The St. Joseph's Table at Holy Rosary Parish features a number of Sicilian goodies, including fresh-baked cookies, pastries and breads. The Feast of St. Joseph will be celebrated at the parish March 18-19.
Who doesn’t love Italian food?! St. Joseph’s Tables feature beautiful decorations, bountiful cookies and baked goods and of course, pasta. Cooks spend many hours preparing the goodies and tables to honor St. Joseph. Below is a list of some St. Joseph Tables in the diocese.

Nativity of Mary Parish, 11:30 a.m. – 3 p.m., March 8, Parish hall, 10017 E. 36th Terrace, Independence. St. Joseph Table and dinner featuring both traditional and Milanese sauce as well as hundreds of Italian cookies and specialty baked goods and breads. Dinner includes pasta, salad and bread. Free will donation.

St. Mark Parish, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., March 15, 3736 Lee’s Summit Road, Independence, Spaghetti Milanese or plain, 26 kinds of cookies. Dinner includes Spaghetti, lettuce salad, bread and 3 Italian cookies/ $6. Quart containers of spaghetti sauce/$6.

St. Thomas More Parish, 11 a.m. – 7 p.m., March 19, More Hall, 11800 Holmes Road, Kansas City. Serving traditional pasta Melanesia, with donations accepted for meal. Specialty foods on main St. Joseph Table will be available for purchase beginning at 1 p.m., includes Italian cookies, breads and cannolis. Funds raised will be donated to the needy.

St. Anthony Parish, 2-9 p.m., March 18, 318 Benton, Kansas City. Viewing of St. Joseph Table, Mass celebrated in Italian at 7 p.m., followed by blessing of the table. March 19, 11 a.m.-7 p.m., serving Pasta Milanese dinner. Free will offering to benefit the needy. Carryout available for $5. Italian cookies, cannolis and sphingis may be purchased both days.

St. Robert Bellarmine Parish, Noon to 6:30 p.m., March 14, 4313 S. 7 Highway, Blue Springs. St. Joseph Table viewing and spaghetti dinner, Noon – 6:30 p.m., in parish hall. $7/adults, $3/ children under 10.

Holy Rosary Parish, March 18-19, Scalabrini Hall, 911 E. Missouri Avenue, Kansas City. 4 p.m., March 18, Blessing of the table. Cookies, cannolis and other Italian and Vietnamese delicacies on sale through 8 p.m. March 19. Following 10 a.m. Mass March 19, free lunch of traditional pasta Milanese. Free will offerings are appreciated with all money raised going to charity.

Holy Cross Parish, Noon- 7 p.m., March 14, 5106 St. John Avenue, Kansas City. Table blessing follows 3:30 p.m. Mass. March 15, Pasta Milanese or plain served 11 a.m. - 6:30 p.m., donations accepted. Italian cookies: biscottis, pignolatas and cannolis available for purchase both days. Parish hall is handicapped accessible.

Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 8 a.m.–8 p.m., March 15, daily Mass chapel, 416 W. 12th Street, Kansas City. Traditional St. Joseph’s Table fare will be offered including numerous Italian cookies, pastries and breads. Table blessing during 9 a.m. Mass. Free will donations for baked goods and flowers. St. Sabina Parish, March 14-15, 700 Trevis Ave., Belton. Table blessing will take place following 5 p.m. Mass, March 14. Spaghetti dinner served 11:30 a.m. -3 p.m., March 15. Baked goods may be purchased after all Masses and Sunday afternoon. All proceeds to local food pantry. For more information, call (816) 331-4713.

Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, 2-5 p.m., March 15. Table will be in the school gym, 8812 E. Gregory Blvd., Raytown. Blessing of the Table at 2 p.m., followed by meatless spaghetti dinner (or vegetarian soup). Italian cookies and baked goods will be available for purchase after the blessing. $5/adults, $2/children 10 and younger. Tickets on sale after all weekend Masses in church vestibule through March 15.

If you don’t see your parish listed, please call them to check if a St. Joseph Table is scheduled.

Fish Fries:

St. James Parish-Liberty, 5-8 p.m., March 6, March 20, and April 3, school gym, 309 S. Stewart Road, Liberty. Fried catfish, baked tilapia, hot spiced boiled shrimp, cheese pizza, made-to-order pasta bar. Prices start $8/adults, $4/children. Hosted by the St. James Knights of Columbus Council # 6780.

Our Lady of Perpetual Help (Redemptorist) Parish, 5:30-8 p.m., Fridays Feb. 27-April 3, 211 W. Linwood, Kansas City. Shrimp dinners, $14/adults, $35/groups of 3 or more; $6/children $15/groups of 3 or more. Sponsored by the Ancient Order of Hibernians. For more information, contact Don Burkett (913) 568-8491.
